Kansas City Kansas – Wyandotte County CVB Captures Eight State Awards
The Kansas City Kansas-Wyandotte County Convention & Visitors Bureau was presented with eight marketing awards at the Travel Industry Association of Kansas’ (TIAK) annual conference held October 18-20, 2009 in Overland Park, KS.

The TIAK marketing awards program recognizes and honors those organizations that have made a positive impact on the development and expansion of the travel and tourism industry in Kansas. The awards are based on the aesthetic appeal, conceptual merit and innovation of marketing materials and projects used in the past year. A panel of advertising and marketing professionals determines the award winners.

Kansas City Kansas-Wyandotte County Convention & Visitors Bureau captured eight TIAK awards including overall winner in two categories.

• Overall winner in the category of outsourced visitor guides

• Dottie’s Summer Scoop overall winner in the category of social media campaigns

Community Awareness Campaign:
• “500 Thank You’s” campaign during National Tourism Week
• Annual Tourism Celebration 150th Anniversary of Wyandotte County
